Moisture matters

Seasoned vs barely dried.

DEFRA changed the rules in 2021. All firewood sold under 2 cubic metres has to be under 20% moisture. A lot of suppliers still ignore it. We don't.

What 20% moisture means

16 to 18% Our typical firewood. Lights easily, burns hot, less smoke and creosote.

28 to 35% "Green" or barely seasoned wood. Hisses, smokes, gums up the flue.
